Solid state detectors and cryogenic detectors are widely employed in rareevent searches, such as direct Dark Matter detection or Coherent NeutrinoNucleus Scattering experiments. The excellent sensitivity and, consequently,their low energy thresholds are among the most appealing features of suchdetectors. We present a method to quantify the lowest trigger thresholdachievable as a function of the acceptable amount of noise events triggered forthe physics case under investigation. We then apply this novel method toexisting experimental and simulated data to validate the model we presented.
