On Lie algebras, we study commutative 2-cocycles, i.e., symmetric bilinearforms satisfying the usual cocycle equation. We note their relationship withantiderivations and compute them for some classes of Lie algebras, includingfinite-dimensional semisimple, current and Kac-Moody algebras.
