A 75-year-old man with a smoking index of 66 pack-years underwent left S6 segmentectomy (Fig. 1). Three months later, bronchoscopy revealed four endobronchial squamous cell carcinomas measuring 2—3 mm (Fig. 2). There was no recurrence of lesions at 1 year after bronchoscopic electro-cautery using a wire snare. Fig. 1. (A) Bronchoscopy was performed because of hemoptysis, and revealed two tiny polypoid lesions at the orifice of the left main stem bronchus. Two additional lesions were observed at the lower trachea and the distal part of the left main stem bronchus. (B) Histologically, the polypoid lesions were diagnosed as squamous cell carcinoma (H&E stain, original magnification Â200).
