Effects of water flow on growth of Microcystis aeruginosa were studied under high nutrient culture in laboratory. The experiment was conducted in small perspex ring groove,which generated water flow, under axenic condition, constant temperature and light. The results showed that the growth rate were accelerated and the adaptive growth time were shortened by water flow in high nutrient culture, however, the logarithmic growth phase were extended. The growth of M. aeruginosa in hypeutrophic had no significant difference in different treatments. however, the growth under BG11 culture had significant difference and a threshold of flow rate (about 25 cm/s).
