This course is aimed at giving the participants a hands-on training on all aspects of herbarium methodology, maintenance, principles of taxonomy including molecular and cladistics aspects. A variety of teaching methods like lectures, discussions, field and herbarium work focusing on diverse aspects will facilitate their research and teaching programmes. The Course will also help the participants to gain and sharpen their skills in both traditional and modern aspects of taxonomy. The skills thus gained will help them become better researchers and teachers. The course will consist of 2–3 lectures everyday followed by equal duration of practicals/demonstrations/hands-on training. Teachers and research students practicing taxonomic work who wish to participate in the Refresher Course may send their application on plain paper with following details: name, age, date of birth, gender, e-mail, official and residential address, telephone and mobile numbers, academic qualifications starting from B.Sc., teaching/research experience (current research activities), courses taught, positions held and a statement indicating the reason for their interest in participation and their expectations from the Course.
