Since Volume 10, 2016, Frontiers of Computer Science established an “NSFC Excellent Young Scholars Forum”, which aims to publishing articles from recipients of the NSFC (National Science Foundation of China) Excellent Young Scholars Program. During the past three years, 37 articles have been published and this forum has received very positive feedbacks from readers. With the rapid progress of computer science research, more and more excellent young computer scientists emerge. To advocate the initiative of respecting scientific contribution rather than titles, Frontiers of Computer Science decides to launch the “Excellent Young Computer Scientists Forum” to replace the previous “NSFC Excellent Young Scholars Forum”. The leading authors (either the first authors or the communication authors) of the articles should be young computer scientists who obtained their PhD degree in no more than ten years. The articles either review their research fields from their own viewpoints, or summarize their own lines of research, or present their recent research advances. All the articles in this forum are by invitation-only, recommended by editorial board members of Frontiers of Computer Science. We sincerely hope that the Excellent Young Computer Scientists Forum will be able to serve as a window of exhibiting research and vision of the excellent young generation computer scientists, and hope that this forum will be an attractive feature of the journal.
