Note from the Editor Issue No. 6 of Vol. 140 for 2011 contains an error in the report by N. M. Ipekchyan, " Structural basis of the inhibitory functions of the efferent systems of the parietal cortex. " On page 15, the last paragraph should read: The enormous increase in the neocortex in mammals and especially primates occurred as a result of extension of its surface (increases in the numbers of basic neuron modules) without any particular change in the vertical organization, as shown by the constant values for neuron counts through the depth of the PAA and sensorimotor cortex in five mammalian species: mice, rats, cats, macaques, and humans [26]. We would like to apologize to the author.
