The behavior of a polybenzimidazole-based\udhigh-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell\udusing dimethyl ether (DME) as fuel was investigated under\udstationary and dynamic load conditions. The power density\udwas enhanced significantly with an increase of both operating\udtemperature and anodic water stoichiometry. Likewise,\udthe power density decreased with increasing DME\udstoichiometry. The characterization of the dynamic operation\udshowed a strong qualitative similarity to low-temperature\uddirect methanol fuel cells. The development of the\udcell voltage after a spontaneous change of cell current\uddensity could be assigned to the electrochemical oxidation\udof an intermediate species
