The charge form factor of the pion is calculated for momentum transfer rangeof Jefferson Lab experiments. The approach is based on the instant form of therelativistic Hamiltonian dynamics. It is shown that the form-factor dependenceon the choice of the model for quark wave function in pion is weak, while thedependence on the constituent--quark mass is rather significant. It is possibleto estimate the mass of constituent quark and the sum of anomalous magneticmoments of $u$- and $\bar d$- quarks from the JLab experiments.Comment: 4 pages, RevTeX, 1 ps figur
