The origin of the poles generated by chiral coupled-channel dynamics andapplied to $\bar{K}N$ interactions is related to the nonzero diagonal couplingsin the $\pi\Sigma$, $\bar{K}N$ and $K\Xi$ channels. An evolution of the polesfrom the zero coupling limit and from a limit of restored SU(3) symmetry isdiscussed.
