Dear Editor,We read with interest the paper by Cornips et al. [ 1]. Theauthors have performed an elegant study evaluating forchanges in the lumbosacral angle in patients with spinaldysraphism. Unfortunately, the authors excluded 82 childrenfor various exclusion criteria. Their findings did not supportan earlier study of ours that evaluated this radiological findingover time in pediatric patients with myelomeningocele andlipomyelomeningocele [ 2]. This might be explained by thegreater degree of tethering seen in patients with lipomyelo-meningocele. The authors of the present study evaluated cordtethering from multiple pathological entities. Moreover, thereis also the possibility that there were subtle differencesbetween the clinical evaluations of symptoms of the tetheredcord between the two studies [3, 4].
