For smooth projective G-varieties, we equate the gauged Gromov-Witteninvariants for sufficiently small area and genus zero with the invariant partof equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants; this is part of the quantumnon-abelian localization conjecture. From this we deduce a gauged version ofabelianization for Gromov-Witten invariants. In the symplectic setting, weprove that any sequence of genus zero symplectic vortices with vanishing areahas a subsequence that converges after gauge transformation to a holomorphicmap with zero average moment map. Conversely, any such map is the limit of sucha sequence.
