We study bulk RG flows in the context of TQFTs and show how IR theories canbe entirely represented within the respective UV theories by means ofcodimension-one projection defects. What is more, RG flows of the bulk theorycan be described in terms of RG flows of the codimension-one identity defect inthe fixed UV bulk theory. We illustrate this in the example of RG flows betweenLandau-Ginzburg orbifold models, for which the respective defects can bedescribed in terms of matrix factorizations.
