No conventional picture of nucleus-nucleus collisions has yet been able toexplain the abundance of Omega and AntiOmega in central collisions between Pbnuclei at 158 A GeV at the CERN SPS. We argue that such a deviation frompredictions of statistical thermal models and numerical simulations is evidencethat they are produced as topological defects in the form of skyrmions arisingfrom the formation of disoriented chiral condensates.
