Außer im Klimakterium unterschreitet die minimale Konzentration außerhalb des Kerngehäuses nicht den Betrag von 10–20% des Gleichgewichtswertes mit Luft. Während des Klimakteriums kann der Sauerstoffgehalt an diesen Stellen auf Null sinken.\ud\udDie Sauerstoffkonzentration nimmt von außen nach innen nicht gleichmäßig ab, sondern zeigt in der Leitbündelzone eine Unstetigkeit.Oxygen concentrations in fleshy fruits can be measured accurately with a miniaturized Clark electrode. During the climacteric, oxygen concentrations can sink to very low values, accompanied by an irregular radial distribution
