With the development of economy, the movement of goods toward urban areas has already become an important issue. For that purpose, we have seen an increasing interest for developing Intermodal transportation mode. In this work, we focus on the loading/unloading operations in a specific context of an Intermodal transportation mode. We aim to develop a sophisticated discrete event simulation tool in order to simulate these operations. The paper describes the different steps and objects implemented in the study to develop our simulation model. The structure of the simulation program is also explained. Preliminaries computational results to validate our model are presented and discussed.
