Recent discoveries, as well as open questions, in experimentally realizedcorrelated electron materials are reviewed. In particular, high temperaturesuperconductivity in the cuprates and in the recently discovered ironpnictides, possible chiral p-wave superconductivity in strontium ruthenate, thesearch for quantum spin liquid behavior in real materials, and new experimentaldiscoveries in topological insulators are discussed.
