In this paper we address several constrained transportation optimizationproblems (e.g. vehicle routing, shortest Hamiltonian path), for which wepresent novel algorithmic solutions and extensions, considering severaloptimization objectives, like minimizing costs and resource usage. All theconsidered problems are motivated by practical situations arising, forinstance, in the mining and metallurgical industry or in data communication. Werestrict our attention to transportation networks with path, tree or geometricstructures, for which the developed polynomial-time algorithms are optimal ornearly optimal.
