This paper is an outcome of the author's master thesis written under thesupervision of Aldo Conca. We prove some results relating connectednessproperties with (local) cohomological dimension. As an interesting corollary wehave that every initial complex of a Cohen-Macaulay ideal is stronglyconnected.
