Heroic Authenticity: Consumer Criticism and Politics in Neue –Neue-Deutsche-Welle:The article introduces and discusses a new trend in German popular music, often referred to as Neue Neue Deutsche Welle. In the article, it is argued that this new trend in popular music must be seen as a reaction to contemporary political developments and structural changes in society. Referring among others to the French sociologists Luc Boltanski and Eve Chiappello, it is proposed to see the Neue Neue Deutsche Welle as an attempt to reclaim political discourse and to bring forward new semantic concepts of stability against the current demand for unlimited flexibility.
