Selective feticide was performed at 15 weeks' gestation in a twin pregnancy where one fetus was found to have β ‐thalassaemia major after diagnosis by chorionic villus sampling at 10 weeks' gestation. The technical, medical, legal and psychological problems are discussed in relation to this case.
