A case of recurrent syncopal episodes and two documented episodes of ventricular fibrillation associated with prolongation of the Q‐T interval is described. This is a very uncommon problem previously described in young children with and without perceptive deafness. The possible mechanisms for the development of ventricular arrhythmias are discussed, and the importance of electrocardiographic investigation in patients presenting with unexplained syncope is stressed.
