The issue of the return of the public tomuseums after the experience connected with theCOVID-19 pandemic is discussed. Furthermore, theresults of research related to participation in cultureand public’s motivations focused on museum visitors isanalysed. The activities undertaken by the institutionsdesiring to maintain communication with the public andwishing to enable them contact with museum exhibitsdespite the sanitary restrictions are presented. Theauthors have initially diagnosed the impact of thepandemic on the institutions’ relations with their public,pointing to both negative impacts and benefits, e.g.,speeding of the digitizing process and extension ofeducational functions.
