En el presente trabajo se ha hecho un primer estudio de las características psicométricas del CDZ (KOVACS 1980, 1981) en la versión catalana. Esta escala, reconocida como técnica de evaluación de los síntomas de depresión infantil y como técnica de screening, ha sido utilizada en muchas investigaciones fuera de nuestro contexto lingüístico (SA YLOR, FINCH et al., 1984; CYTRYN, MCKNEW y BUNNEY, 1980; LEFKOW ITZ y TESINY, 1980; FINCH y SA YLOR, 1985). Creemos necesario aportar a la evaluación clínica un instrumento que tenga en cuenta las variables lingüísticas de los niños catalanes para investigar en el campo de la depresión infantil, mediante una técnica de autoinforme. El estudio se ha realizado en Gerona con dos muestras de niños normales de 4º de EGB.In this work, a first study of the CDZ (KOVACS 1980, 1981) psychometric characteristics has been mude on a Catalan version. This widely acknowledged scale for children depression symptoms rating as well as screening technique has been used in a lot of research out of our linguistic environment (SAYLOR, FINCH et al., 1984-1985; CYTRYN, MCKNEW and BUNNEY,1980; LEFKOWITZ and TESINY,1980). We thought it was necessary to enrich the clinic assessment with an instrument fhat took into account the linguistic variables of Catalan children in order to work on the children's depression field, by the means of a self-reported instrument. This study has been developed in Girona with two samples of normal 4th EGB schoolchildren
