The article analyzes the structural characteristics of the five-factor model of Michael Porter, which suggests that the forces of competition in the market form a strategy that determines the possible level of business profit. Also, the issue of an efficient business theory, which offers the company to find various means to create an inarguable market space, was considered. The essence of the concept of the "blue ocean" is revealed, the advantages of this concept are described, some of the directions of development of this concept are considered.
