Crique aqui: um signo mestiço

Neste estudo, reflito primeiramente sobre o fenômeno do rotacismo na história da língua portuguesa do ponto de vista lingüístico pancrônico. Em seguida, a partir de um episódio em que o rotacismo se imprime num signo do inglês, procuro discutir a suposta crença de que no movimento de expansão da língua global significa uma sentença de morte para as línguas locais. Firstly, this study reflects on the phenomenon of rhotacism in the history of  the Portuguese language, from the panchronic linguistic point of view. Next, from an episode in which rhotacism imprints itself on an English sign, this work tries to discuss the assumed belief that the spread of the global language signifies a death sentence for the local languages.
