The long political conflict undergone by Colombia could be entering a phase of resolution (which could last several years) and the divers combating forces proclaim for themselves legitimacy as justifying means for their actions. At the moment of dissolving the conflict, it seems pertinent to theoretically clarify the pretensions for legitimacy and the legitimacy actions that the different actors in the conflict claim, aiming at the possibility for the citizens to decide about their loyalties in a rational and reasonable way. To develop this assay. firstly the work hypotheses are considered, then the concepts of authenticity legitimacy are after that, a brief political-historical characterization of legitimacy in Latin America is carried out, and, finally, the Colombian case from the 1990 decade on is approached, under this theoretical perspective of legitimacy
