Statistical analysis of the time series of the mean annual temperature and characteristic parameters representing seasonal variation of temperature over 8 representative stations of India has been made Mean annual temperature shows an increasing trend at Calcutta, Bombay, Bangalore and Allahabad and decreasing trend at Fort Cochin Quasi-biennial oscillation is a significant feature of the temperature variation not only in the mean annual temperature but also in the amplitude of the seasonal variation of the temperature of the different parts of the country.
