¿El fin de una tipología? Expectativas de las estructuras laminares en el panorama actual.

Resumen\udLas estructuras laminares, como las realizadas por Eduardo Torroja y Félix Candela, han supuesto un salto cualitativo en la concepción espacial de la arquitectura del siglo XX. El que hoy esta tipología se encuentre en desuso es un hecho interesante, ajeno a las consideraciones meramente resistentes. La aparición y desaparición de sistemas estructurales, siempre va ligado a cambios históricos, que nos permiten entender los razonamientos que rigen la actividad humana, enfrentando el futuro con el peso de la consciencia técnica e histórica. Desde la tesis de la que forma parte este estudio, se busca comprender estos factores y la incidencia de las capacidades materiales, técnicas y de cálculo, en la concepción proyectual y en especial en las arquitecturas de grandes luces, como ámbito extremo de referencia.\udAbstract\udShell structures, such as the works by Eduardo Torroja and Félix Candela, have been a qualitative leap in the spatial conception of the architecture of the twentieth century. Today, the fact that this typology is unused, is an interesting fact, not related to the resistance considerations. The coming and going of structural systems is always linked to historical changes, that allow us to understand the reasoning that govern human activity, and allow us to face the future with the weight of the technical and historical consciousness.
