The brevity of the Pascual Ortiz Rubio government and its submission to the plans of General Plutarco Elías Calles are generally mentioned by revolutionary historiogra¬phy, but rather little has been deepened in the facts that led to the rupture of the modus vi¬vendi offered by his predecessor to the Catholic Church and that accelerated its resignation to the presidency. This article presents some little known facts about the events that origina¬ted, first, the crisis of the end of 1931 and, later, the ruin of the Ortiz Rubio administration.
