The jazz trumpet has a well-pronounced specifics that is performed in the solo, ensemble and orchestral interpretive practice. A sound rich in nuances, various technical and expressive options, diverse procedures for sound emission, articulations, special ornaments – all this gives the trumpet an irreplaceable role in jazz music. The article examines the main aspects of jazz trumpet playing technique in a big band.
