Venezuela’s economy has been in a deep continuous crisis for 7 years. For researchers the country’s crisis is one of the most pressing problems related to the economy and politics of the Latin America region, since the crisis continuously worsens the living conditions of 28 million citizens and is a powerful stimulus for migration waves unseen until now in the recent history of the region. Since the main reason for the economic crisis in Venezuela lies in the political situation in the country, it is reasonable to study the political crisis and analyze how it affects the economy of this oil-rich, formerly prosperous nation if we want to understand the current problem of Venezuela and look for possible solutions.
