Pulmonary Langerhans' cell histiocytosis (histiocytosis X) is an uncommon, diffuse interstitial lung disease of unknown cause, mostly presenting in young smokers. Association of pulmonary Langerhans' cell histiocytosis with a malignant neoplasm is rare.
