This paper questions a food aid short supply chain using the food democracy concept. The case study focuses on the Uniterres program, led by ANDES, a French federation of social groceries. The paper shows that the democratic process is not completed within this food aid distribution system and that producers’ resilience should be taken into account when dealing with food democracy.
