Resumen: Este artículo presenta una reflexión de carácter metodológico sobre los problemas que plantea la elaboración de un índice de motivos y sobre el concepto de motivo en los libros de caballerías castellanos (1508-1516). Analiza con brevedad cómo se puede aplicar el Motif-Index de Thompson a estas obras y, a la vez, propone un método diferente de clasificación, diseñado ad hoc.Palabras clave: Libros de caballerías castellano. Índice. Método de clasificación. Motivos.Abstract: This article reflects upon the concept of motif in the Castilian Romances of Chivalry. The objetive is to think theoretically about a possible Classification Method of the recurrences of content in the Castilian Romances of Chivalry (1508-1516). It analyses briefly how the Motif-Index of Thompson can be applied to these works and, at the same time, it proposes a method of classification of the properly knightly reasons, looking for the methodological simplicity and a precise terminology.Keywords: Castilian Romances of Chivalry.
