The article is an analysis of the sound and musical space created for the brazilian animation The boy and the World (2013), produced by Alê Abreu. In the narrative, imagery and sound styles, the animation deals with the representation of ideas and symbols in a unique way, bringing a sound environment rich in experiments, which deserves a critical look in order to bring important contributions to this field of study. Animation is a space where all sound must be recreated, so it opens a rich field for investigation. In the methodology, we highlight some frames of the object, bringing an analysis of the relationships between image and sound. We understand that sound has its narrative particularities, with elements intrinsic to its field of research, reinforcing the importance of its own study and the relevance in relation to image production. For this, a support was sought mainly in the theories of Michel Chion and Angel Rodriguez, where we can highlight contributions to the knowledge of these correlations. The sound is far from being redundant in relation to the image, in fact, it completes and transcends the narrative, providing a more complete experience (Rodriguez 2006, 276). Therefore, we understand that a well developed sound environment built for the animation allows particularities and identity to the narrative artistic object.
