The article analyzes some of the approaches, forms and methods of work of bodies for combating theft of socialist property (BHSS) of Leningrad and the region on the prevention and fight against crimes against socialist property in the last three decades of the existence of the USSR. It also examines various aspects of the legal regulation of organizational forms of participation in this process of units of the BHSS and the population of the region.
