Knowing how to treat people successfully depends upon understanding them and understanding oneself. Despite research a complete understanding of both factors is not possible so far. Managers have difficulty in assessing employees’ behaviour, while employees often see managers’ behaviour as amusing or insensitive. On a global level, lack of understanding causes wars, hatred and tension.
