The Traffic in the metropolitan urban communitiesplays an essential part in transportation problems. Though manychanges are happening in the E-Challan systems and trafficmaintenance methods, some new methods are indispensable tocontrol the traffic in urban areas. Mainly no-parking areas arethe main concern and it always leads to the traffic problem. Aregular monitoring system is needed to monitor the no parkingzones which help to solve the problem occurred by parking thevehicles in no parking areas. So, E-Challan is the solution toresolve the issues at significant spots like no-parking regions. Thisproject proposes an E-Challan system with the help of numberplate detection using OpenCV library. Cameras are used to get theimages of vehicles parked in the restricted areas. License numberswhich are detected through traffic cameras automatically searchfor the registered phone numbers in the database and send thisE-Challan as an SMS to the registered phone numbers of thepeople who violated the regulation proposed by the respectivegovernment.
