The objective of the work is to design and analysisof a press tool for component clamping plate which is used inautomobile to meet the production requirement of 2,00, 000components for an automobile. To achieve this press tool havingcombination of operations like blanking, piercing and bending isdesigned for producing a clamping plate in a single stroke in twostages and to optimize production rate and manufacturing cost.Based on features in the component, compound die is designedwhich can perform blanking and piecing operation in first stagefollowed by bending operation in the second stage. The structuralanalysis was carried out for the forming dies and punches whichshows that both the deflections and the stresses are well withinthe limits.
