The paper presents analysis of the Yekaterinburg water supply problems in the conditions of extremely low-water years and discrepancies between the current water/economic system and requirements of safe water supply of major inhabited localities. Various options for the raising of the city and industrial center water supply system reliability due to modification of the current water/economic system, doubling and verification of water supply routes, expediency and variability of independent reserve water supply sources use plus associated measures have been considered.
