The author’s main thesis is that the processes of internationalisation and democratisation are characteristic of the contemporary Polish language.The main research subject presented in the paper concerns an intensive development of the Polish vocabulary. The author analyses the neologisms performing the nominative function. She presents words formed with Polish suffi xes, productivity of foreign prefi xes, and series formed with borrowed morphemes.
