Periodisation of the latest history of the Polish language (1939–2019) Periodisations of history are usually presented in synthesising studies. Analysis of the hitherto periodisations of the history of the Polish language enables compilation of a summary proposition, which includes also the recent history of Polish (since 1939). Its internal periodisation is based on the following criteria: 1) record of qualitative intra-linguistic changes; 2) hierarchy of intralinguistic development trends of the system of the Polish language; 3) system of sociolinguistic trends; 4) infl uences of extra-linguistic and non-linguistic processes.
