One of the most important tasks that the school is called to solve is to ensure that students learn the basic knowledge of science. The main components of the system of scientific knowledge: scientific facts, scientific concepts, theories, laws, research methods, applied issues. The main core of this system is scientific concepts. Without assimilation of concepts, there can be no conscious assimilation of the laws and theories of physics. All this leads to the conclusion about the importance of the problem of the formation of scientific concepts in school students and the formation of the competence of future teachers in this type of activity. To consciously control the process of the formation of concepts, it is necessary to know the main features, patterns. The article presents the experience of conducting a special course to prepare students for the formation of physical concepts in schoolchildren.
