''Masnavi'' is prominent kind of poetry in Persian as well as in urdu.In Urdu literature it gets start from ''Behmani Era'' and the first Masnavi of that era is '' Kadam Rao Padam Rao'' by Fakhar Din Nizami. In ''Adil Shahi'' and ''Qutab Shahi'' period it became the most famous poetic genre. In these periods ''Masnavi'' were written in great number.in this research paper the researcher has discussed dakkani masnavi and its evolution in full detail.
