he research presented in this paper focuses on how to make a complex historical period echoing topical issues understandable. The events in question are the 1892-1894 anarchist attacks. Drawing on the analysis of secondary school textbooks, our study highlights the weakness of the proposed explanatory network with a predominance of the causal framework and the weight of scholastic vulgate in the presentation of the establishment of the Third Republic.
