Gold placer of seabottom and coastal zone of Bayah Waters occurred in sand, slightly gravelly sand, gravelly sand, muddy sand, sandy mud, slightly gravelly muddy sand and slightly gravelly sandy mud. Due to open Indian Ocean deposition environment; coarse sediments of sand, slightly gravelly sand and gravelly sand tend to have higher Au contents than fine sediments.
Based on Total Alkali Silica diagram, igneous rock as the source of secondary gold is dacite which belongs to Granodiorite Cihara approximately 10 kilometers west of Bayah. Furthermore, due to its high density (19,3) gold tends to accumulate in subsurface sediments than surficial deposits especially in the coastal area.
Longshore current from the west passing through igneous rock complex Granodiorite Cihara possibly brought along gold to the east which is trapped by bay morphology formed by Ujung Karangtaraje headland located surround Madur River mouth. High content gold was much accumulated in this area.
