The solutions to environmental problems in the advanced democratic countries of the world and in Ukraine are compared. The factors that have the greatest influence on the socio-ecological problems in Lviv region are analysed. New approaches to the allocation of territorial ecological and geographical formations are considered. Centres and lines of the largest environmental stress and areas of high, medium and low human pressure are characterised. Key words: socioecological problems, the factors of influence on the eco-geographical situation, human pressure, ecological and geographical territorial entities.
