This article present the Gottlob Frege's conception of argument, truth and significance. The thought relation with truth or the meaning and reference. Argumentation, truth and significance, a current theme over the times, is an subject intrinsic to the logic and linguistic activity, ubiquitous in all spheres of human life. The theories are diverse, but all contribute to the understanding of argumentative practice, its strategies and provide the fundamental elements in identifying the mechanisms, techniques and intentions of argumentation. At the end of this article, is presented a Study of Case about the implications of argumentation in social media discourse
