This study aims to introduce the effectiveness over the students’ views on the nature of science, who depends on Common Knowledge Construction Model (CKCM) in the teaching of the subjects of "Sound" unit in the 6th Grade Science course. The study group includes 57 students at total with the composition of 30 control and 27 experimental group students in Mehmet Akif Ersoy Secondary School which is located in the province Kulu, in Konya, in the 2018 2019 Academic year. In the experimental group, the teaching model based on CKCM while in the control group 5E teaching model was applied. As a data collection tool, the Nature of Science Opinion Questionnaire (NSOQ) was used in this study. NSOQ was applied to the experimental and control groups as pre-test and post-test before and after the practice. The quasi-experimental method was applied in this research. Skewness kurtosis values of the findings were examined, and it was concluded that the data showed normal distribution according to Skewness and Kurtosis values. After these practices, frequency values of weak, changeable and sufficient views of experimental and control groups were calculated. When the findings obtained in the study are examined, the contribution of CKCM to the opinions of 6th grade students about the nature of science is quite good. However, a slight change was observed, when the pre-and post-test data of the control group students' views on the nature of science were taken into consideration.
